Σαν σήμερα πριν ακριβώς 42 χρόνια στις 24 Ιουνίου, 1975 γεννήθηκε ο παλαίμαχος ποδοσφαιριστής της ομάδας μας Φίλιππος Φιλίππου. Αγωνιζόταν στη θέση του σέντερ μπακ και θεωρείται ένας από τους καλύτερους κεντρικούς αμυντικούς που φόρεσαν τη φανέλα της ομάδας μας.
Δυνατός, τρομερά αθλητικός, με πάθος και τσαγανό ξεχώριζε για τα καίρια τάκλιν και την απίστευτη του αυταπάρνηση, ο Φίλιππος αγωνίστηκε με την κυανόλευκη φανέλα 7 συνολικά χρόνια (1995/96-2001-02) έχοντας σημαντική συνεισφορά στην κατάκτηση του κυπέλλου του 2001.
Αξίζει να αναφερθεί ότι ο Φίλιππος κατάφερε στην καριέρα του με τα κυανόλευκα να σκοράρει συνολικά 10 γκολ στον θεσμό του πρωταθλήματος ενώ έχει 12 ευρωπαϊκές συμμετοχές με τον Απόλλωνα και είναι στην πρώτη 12άδα κύπριων ποδοσφαιριστών με τις περισσότερες συμμετοχές στα ευρωπαϊκά σαλόνια.
